Was a bit dubious buying F1 tickets…

Bought a 4 day grandstand seat to the australian grand prix and was a bit offput by the fact that I wouldn't recieve my tickets til the week of, but lo and behold, 3 days before the event the tickets were transferred to me without issue. Happy with the process overall.

About Bloc Party

Bloc Party are a British indie rock band formed in London in 1999, known for their potent blend of post-punk energy and melodic sensibility. The band, led by vocalist and guitarist Kele Okereke, with guitarist Russell Lissack, bassist Gordon Moakes and drummer Matt Tong in its classic lineup, first broke through with their debut album Silent Alarm (2005). The record was hailed by critics and fans alike, spawning standout tracks such as Banquet, Helicopter and Like Eating Glass, and is widely regarded as one of the defining albums of the mid-2000s indie rock boom. Its urgency, sharp riffs and lyrical depth helped establish Bloc Party as a vital voice in alternative music.

Emerging from the vibrant London indie scene, Bloc Party’s early sound mixed angular guitar work, propulsive rhythms and emotive vocals, drawing on post-punk influences while carving out a distinct identity of their own. Early singles and EPs built a passionate following, and their relentless touring schedule helped turn that buzz into an international audience.

As their career developed, albums such as A Weekend in the City, Intimacy and Four saw the band push beyond their original template. They experimented more with electronic textures, layered production and complex rhythms, folding in elements of dance music, R&B and experimental rock while keeping hold of the emotional directness that defined their debut. Songs tackled everything from city life and politics to relationships and identity, giving their work a personal but often socially aware edge.

Bloc Party’s influence can be felt across the indie and alternative rock landscape. Many modern bands point to Silent Alarm and its follow-up records as key reference points, albums that managed to bridge ambitious, artful ideas with hooks that could fill festival fields. Their live shows, from sweaty club gigs to main-stage festival sets, have earned a reputation for intensity, tight musicianship and a strong connection with the crowd, with Kele’s distinctive voice and the band’s dynamic interplay at the centre.

After a hiatus and later lineup changes, Bloc Party returned with new material and a run of anniversary tours that reaffirmed their status as a beloved live band. Their Silent Alarm shows, performed in full to mark the album’s 20th anniversary, sold out quickly and introduced the record to a new generation of fans standing alongside those who had been there since the beginning. In 2025, their body of work was recognised with the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection, underlining their lasting impact on modern British music.
