About California, Dream On

The two shows were announced on 7 October by Live Nation-Hewitt Silva and Blackbird Presents, after Steven Tyler appeared in a video with photographer Ross Halfin changing the letters on the Bowl’s marquee. It’s a turnaround not many people saw coming. In August 2024 Aerosmith announced they were retiring from touring, after the vocal cord injury Tyler suffered in September 2023 cut the Peace Out farewell tour short and he wasn’t able to recover fully.

Don Was is music director. The billing is a celebration of the band’s catalogue, with guests who have either played or recorded with Aerosmith over the years or name them as an influence, and songs such as ‘Dream On’, ‘Sweet Emotion’, ‘Walk This Way’ and ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ have been mentioned in coverage of the shows. The band haven’t said how the vocals will be shared out across the night.

Aerosmith Hollywood Bowl tickets: who’s playing

Guns N’ Roses were added a day after the announcement as “very special guest performers” for both nights. Slash and Duff McKagan had already been named on their own. There’s some history there too, as Guns N’ Roses opened for Aerosmith on the Permanent Vacation tour back in 1988.

The Hollywood Bowl is at 2301 N Highland Avenue, and getting there takes a bit of planning. Parking on site is stacked, very limited and can sell out, so the venue recommends booking it in advance or using its Park & Ride and Bowl Shuttle services. You can also take the Metro B Line to Hollywood/Highland and catch the free shuttle from Ovation Hollywood with a valid TAP card. The Bowl suggests arriving at least 90 minutes before the show.
