Glastonbury may have taken a year away from Worthy Farm this year, but anticipation for its return is already building. The festival will return to its Somerset home from June 23rd to June 27th in 2027, following its traditional fallow year, with music lovers now patiently waiting to discover which artists will take to the iconic Pyramid Stage.

Even though the official line-up remains under wraps, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that all three of next year’s headliners have been booked, only intensifying speculation around who could be preparing to close the biggest stage in the world.

Harry Styles, Sam Fender and Oasis are among the biggest names to have been linked with Glastonbury 2027, while Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Fred again…’s names are never far from the conversation either. But while fans wait for Glastonbury to reveal its hand, ticket demand is already offering an insight into which artists are vying for the most attention.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles feels like one of the safest bets in the rumour mill. His 2026 Together, Together tour has been a demonstration of how huge his audience really is, performing a record-breaking 12 nights at Wembley Stadium before heading over to New York City for 30 nights at Madison Square Garden later this Autumn. Currently, Styles is among the joint favourites in betting markets for a 2027 Pyramid Stage headline slot, along with Sam Fender. Off the back of his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally, it feels like this is the best opportunity for Glastonbury to book one of pop’s biggest stars.

Sam Fender

Sam Fender is another name that finds himself firmly in the centre of speculation, the North Shields star has established himself as one of the UK’s biggest live act, progressing from his 2019 Glastonbury debut to now having headlined Newcastle’s St. James’ Park in just a few short years. Fender has been among the favourites in early Glastonbury 2027 predictions, with continued demand for his live performances suggesting that attendees would be more than ready to see him take on the mammoth Pyramid Stage.

Oasis

Oasis would arguably be one of the biggest possible bookings for Glastonbury’s return. The band’s Live 2025 shows, which broke demand records globally, saw Oasis return to be one of the world’s biggest live attractions and saw unprecedented demand. Rumours now suggest that the band are to announce shows in Manchester and Knebworth in a couple of months, it will be interesting to see if a Glastonbury appearance also features on the list.

Taylor Swift

Repeatedly linked with a potential Glastonbury appearance, it feels like a Glastonbury headline slot is the only thing missing from Taylor Swift’s career. Having been originally set to headline during the pandemic, Taylor’s growth since makes her one of the most obvious names to have in the running whenever speculation turns to potential headliners. If it were to happen, it would undoubtedly be one of the festival’s biggest ever bookings.

Madonna

Madonna briefly looked like a serious possibility for Glastonbury’s comeback. Reports suggested that Madonna was nailed on to headline next year’s festival, however it now looks like the icon could instead be considering three consecutive BST Hyde Park shows in London in Summer 2027, favouring a record-breaking standalone run over Glastonbury.

However, Emily Eavis has now confirmed that Madonna will definitely not be headlining Glastonbury in 2027, putting to bed one of the festival’s most persistent rumours. If the Hyde Park reports do prove to be accurate, demand for tickets there will be high too.

Other Contenders

Other early predictions include Sabrina Carpenter, Fred Again…, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga, highlighting the number of prominent artists potentially involved. Rihanna and Fred Again… have been mentioned repeatedly over recent years, adding weight to these speculations. However, until Glastonbury makes an official announcement, these are just rumours and not confirmed acts.

What are fans actually buying?

The speculation around who is headlining Glastonbury comes at an interesting time for the wider UK live music market. As the festival takes its traditional fallow year this summer, attention has shifted towards other major festivals and stadium shows, appetite for live music remains at a high.

Demand for tickets for the likes of Harry Styles’ Together, Together tour offers a glimpse at how much demand there is for a headline performance, where fast-rising ticket sales for the major festivals like Reading & Leeds Festival – including headline performances from Fontaines D.C., Charli xcx and Dave, could point to potential headliners for the 2028 edition.

With Glastonbury 2027 ticket information expected to arrive soon, fans won’t have to wait much longer to discover which rumours are to become reality. As always, Glastonbury loves to surprise, so it’s really anybody’s game. Until then, the ticket market may provide the biggest clues as to which potential headliners fans are most desperate to see.
