Sebastian Perez to begin trial at the Emirates Stadium on 5 August.
Colombian youngster Sebastian Perez is set to start his trial with Arsenal on 5 August, according to Gunners blog Red London.
The Metro reported on 9 July that the highly-rated defensive midfielder was set to link up with Arsenal’s squad in early August, after impressing at the under-20 World Cup in Turkey earlier this summer.
Perez’s club Atletico Nacional have previously said it will take a £5m bid to convince them to part with the 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who has earned plaudits for his tough tackling and excellent range of passing.
Perez broke into the Atletico first team two years ago and was part of the side which conquered the Colombian league in his debut season.
The youngster could play a part in some of Arsenal’s pre-season friendlies with either the first team or the development squad but is unlikely to feature in the up-coming Emirates Cup which starts this weekend.
