Wonderful

Excellent, fast, friendly service. Sent me a personal message with a photo before pick-up to let me know where their booth was located. Their service was so good, i’d go to an event just to pick up tickets from them. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

History of the MotoGP British Grand Prix

Silverstone Circuit is steeped in Grand Prix history, built on the site of the former RAF Silverstone airfield. It first hosted racing in the late 1940s. Often referred to as the ‘Home of British motor racing’, it welcomed the British motorcycle Grand Prix for the first time in 1977 and remained its host through to 1986, before MotoGP returned to a remodelled Silverstone in 2010. Since then, the fast, flowing layout and constant updates to both track and facilities have helped secure Silverstone’s place as the long-term home of MotoGP in Great Britain, regularly producing close racing and unpredictable summer weekends.

Located in the heart of England in Northamptonshire, Silverstone sits roughly halfway between London and Birmingham, within easy reach of major airports and motorway links. Its central position, combined with strong rail and road connections to nearby hubs such as Milton Keynes, Northampton and Oxford, draws MotoGP fans from across the United Kingdom and mainland Europe to experience the spectacle of the British Grand Prix.

2025 British Grand Prix Summary

Fabio Quartararo started the British Grand Prix from pole and controlled the restarted 19-lap race from the front, quickly building a comfortable gap while the pack sorted itself out behind him. After early drama with a first-lap red flag and crashes for both Marc and Álex Márquez, the second start settled, with Quartararo breaking away from the pack and Marco Bezzecchi cutting through from the fourth row to move into podium contention alongside Johann Zarco. By lap 11, Quartararo looked on course to end his win drought, only for a rear ride-height device failure to force him out of the race and hand the lead to Bezzecchi.

Bezzecchi went on to win, delivering Aprilia its first victory of the 2025 season and underlining the RS-GP’s pace at one of the fastest tracks on the calendar. Zarco finished a strong second to give Honda a welcome boost after a difficult start to the year, while Marc Márquez completed the podium with a measured ride to third, gaining valuable championship points on a day when his main rivals hit trouble. Franco Morbidelli and Álex Márquez rounded out the top five at Silverstone, salvaging solid results from a race that had started in chaos.

Travelling to Silverstone

Key information

  • London Luton Airport (LTN) and Birmingham Airport (BHX) are the closest major airports, each around 50-60 miles from Silverstone, with typical driving times of about 1 hour in light traffic
  • London Heathrow (LHR) is the most common international arrival point, roughly 110 km from the circuit and about 1 hour 15-30 minutes by car, with frequent long-haul connections
  • Other London airports such as Gatwick and Stansted, plus East Midlands Airport, are possible alternatives, but usually involve a longer onward journey to the circuit
  • Long-distance taxis from the airports to Silverstone can be costly, so most fans opt for a mix of train plus shuttle/bus, or hire a car

Train

  • The most popular route from London is by train from Euston to Milton Keynes Central or Northampton, both under an hour on fast services
  • From Birmingham, regular trains run to Milton Keynes Central, with journey times of around 1 hour 15 minutes
  • From Milton Keynes, Northampton or Banbury, you complete the trip with an official event shuttle bus or a pre-booked taxi, which typically takes 30-40 minutes depending on traffic

Bus

  • On British Grand Prix weekends, direct coach services (for example via Megabus or National Express) run from major UK cities and from London Victoria to Silverstone, often dropping fans within walking distance of the gates
  • Coach tickets are usually cheaper than train-plus-taxi, but journey times are longer and services must be booked in advance, especially on race day

Drive

  • Silverstone is about a 90-minute drive north of London, with the circuit close to both the M1 and M40 motorways
  • Driving from Luton or Birmingham Airport takes around an hour in good conditions, though race weekend traffic can significantly increase this
  • Rental cars are available at all major airports, and many fans choose to camp or stay in nearby towns such as Towcester, Northampton or Milton Keynes. Circuit parking is available but can fill quickly on big event days, so early arrival is strongly recommended
