Arsenal could be set to pull off one of the deals of the summer as they open talks over a possible swap deal with Juventus, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners had been reported to be open to selling Lukas Podolski to the Italian giants before the end of the transfer window, but it has now emerged that they could be using the German international as bait in a deal to sign Manchester United target Arturo Vidal.
This would be something of a shock move after lengthy speculation linking the superb Chilean international with a move to Old Trafford, but he has now become Arsene Wenger’s top target after Arsenal’s failure to bring in either Sami Khedira from Real Madrid or Sporting Lisbon starlet William Carvalho.
Vidal was linked with Arsenal earlier this summer after Wenger eyed both him and Alexis Sanchez at the World Cup, though he prioritised a move for the former Barcelona forward at that point.
Still, a move for Vidal may yet be on if negotiations progress smoothly in the next few days.
