Wonderful
Excellent, fast, friendly service. Sent me a personal message with a photo before pick-up to let me know where their booth was located. Their service was so good, i’d go to an event just to pick up tickets from them. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Pixies formed in Boston in 1986, when Black Francis (Charles Thompson) and Joey Santiago met at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Their mutual love for punk, surf rock, and alternative bands like Hüsker Dü and The Talking Heads brought them together. They soon added Kim Deal on bass and David Lovering on drums, and began developing a unique sound characterised by jagged guitar riffs, surreal lyrics, and a mix of quiet and loud dynamics.
Their first release, the Come On Pilgrim EP in 1987, garnered underground attention for its raw energy and quirky themes. This was followed by their debut album, Surfer Rosa (1988), produced by Steve Albini. The album included tracks like “Gigantic” and “Where Is My Mind?” and became a cornerstone of alternative rock, noted for its lo-fi sound and dynamic shifts that influenced many future bands.
In 1989, they released Doolittle, their breakthrough album, featuring classic songs like “Debaser,” “Here Comes Your Man,” and “Monkey Gone to Heaven.” This album blended abrasive guitar work with catchy melodies and dark humor and received widespread acclaim, helping shape the sound of alternative rock in the late 1980s and paving the way for the alternative boom of the 1990s.
Pixies’ discography includes many genre-defining songs, with “Where Is My Mind?” becoming particularly iconic thanks to its inclusion in the film Fight Club. Other enduring tracks like “Wave of Mutilation” and “Velouria” reflect their talent for surreal storytelling paired with catchy melodies. Their subsequent albums, Bossanova (1990) and Trompe le Monde (1991), continued to showcase their experimentation with spacey textures while retaining their raw energy.
Known for their intense live performances, Pixies built a cult following, especially in the UK, during their early tours. After their breakup in 1993, their reputation only grew, and a successful reunion tour in 2004 reinforced their legendary status. They have since played major festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella, mixing classic hits with newer material and maintaining the ferocity of their original sound.
Critically, Pixies are celebrated for their originality and the contrasting elements in their music—combining quiet moments with explosive aggression. Their albums, especially Doolittle, often appear on “greatest of all time” lists, with praise for their innovative fusion of melody and noise.
Pixies’ influence is profound, inspiring bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Kurt Cobain even described his hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit” as his attempt to create a Pixies song. Their signature quiet-loud dynamic became a defining trait of the grunge movement and the broader alternative rock genre. As pioneers, Pixies’ creativity and nonconformist approach have left a lasting impact on rock music.
Pixies’ 2026 UK tour promises an exciting exploration of the band’s groundbreaking legacy. Fans can look forward to high-energy performances of classics such as “Where Is My Mind?”, “Debaser,” and “Here Comes Your Man,” as well as deep cuts and new material. The band will deliver their signature blend of noise, melody, and surreal intensity, creating an unfiltered celebration of one of alternative rock’s most influential and unpredictable forces.
