Before White On Blonde, Texas had ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’ and not much else on the radio. After it, they had ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Halo’, ‘Black Eyed Boy’ and ‘Put Your Arms Around Me’. Four million copies sold. Spiteri says it was made in her house in Glasgow, with the vocals done in the coat cupboard.
It won’t be the album and nothing else. ‘Summer Son’, ‘Inner Smile’ and ‘In Demand’ came later and are the kind of songs nobody lets them skip. The anniversary reissue lands on 5 February 2027 with demos, rarities, liner notes from Peter Kay and one new track, ‘Another Way To Cry’. Robert Carlyle is in the video.
City, date, listings. Then check two things on the ticket: standing or seated, and which block. Arena layouts aren’t all the same.
Going to Paris or Amsterdam for it? Book travel after the ticket, not before. Sold out at home? Resale.
Sellers set the prices on Fanatix, not us, and they can land above or below face value. Glasgow is the home show. That one, London and the Saturday nights will probably be the busiest.

Texas formed in Glasgow in 1986, with Sharleen Spiteri on vocals and guitar and Johnny McElhone, formerly of Altered Images and Hipsway, on bass. The name came from the Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas. Their first single, ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’, was a top ten hit in 1989, but it was White On Blonde in 1997 that made them stars.
The Hush followed in 1999, and their Greatest Hits album went to number one in 2000. After a break in the late 2000s, the band came back with The Conversation in 2013 and have kept recording and touring since, including the Texas 25 shows and the 2017 album Jump On Board.
