Sammy Hagar is an American rock singer, songwriter and musician whose career has stretched over more than five decades, making him one of hard rock’s most enduring voices. He first came to prominence in the 1970s as the frontman of Montrose, where his powerful vocals and commanding stage presence helped define the band’s classic rock sound. His early solo work followed, yielding hits like “I Can’t Drive 55” and establishing his reputation as a versatile, high-energy and charismatic performer.
Hagar’s breakthrough into mainstream superstardom came in 1985 when he joined Van Halen, stepping in as the new frontman after David Lee Roth’s departure. This period produced several multi-platinum albums, including “5150,” “OU812,” “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” and “Balance.” It also delivered rock radio staples such as “Why Can’t This Be Love,” “Dreams” and “Right Now.” His time with Van Halen helped keep the band at the top of the global rock scene well into the 1990s and firmly cemented his place in rock history. Fans can expect a powerful show that blends Hagar’s solo hits (I Can’t Drive 55, Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy), Montrose anthems, material from Chickenfoot, and a deep dive into his tenure with Van Halen (5150, Why Can’t This Be Love, Finish What Ya Started).
