It’s official: Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl half-time show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on 8 February. The Puerto Rican superstar becomes the latest global icon to take on one of the most-watched stages in the world.
The 31-year-old artist, who has topped Spotify’s most-streamed list three times in the past five years, shared an emotional football-themed statement: “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history.”
A celebration of culture and history
Switching into Spanish, Bad Bunny – real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio – added: “Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el halftime show del Super Bowl,” which translates to: “Go tell your grandma we’re going to be the Super Bowl half-time show.”
The announcement caps off a remarkable run for the Grammy winner. His latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos (I Should Have Taken More Photos), once again confirmed his status as one of the world’s biggest stars. In 2024, he was the third most-streamed artist globally, behind Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. He also recently concluded a record-breaking residency in Puerto Rico that drew more than 500,000 fans.
A Super Bowl stage with history
The Super Bowl half-time show is one of music’s most prestigious slots, with past performers including Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and The Weeknd. Now, Bad Bunny joins that elite list of stars who have left their mark on the Super Bowl stage.
What’s next for Bad Bunny?
Beyond the Super Bowl, all eyes are on the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards in November, where Bad Bunny leads the nominations once again. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting to see if he will also announce new tour dates following his Super Bowl performance.
With a unique blend of reggaeton, trap, and global pop, Bad Bunny has become a generational artist – and his Super Bowl set promises to be one of the highlights of 2026.
