Queen's Tennis tickets 2026

History of the Queen’s Club Championships

The Queen’s Club Championships, officially known as the HSBC Championships, is one of the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. Originally established in 1881 at Stamford Bridge , the tournament has been staged at The Queen’s Club in West Kensington since 1890 and has run almost continuously for well over a century, interrupted only by the two World Wars. As an ATP 500 event and, since 2025, a WTA 500 event, it is the jewel of the pre-Wimbledon grass court season — a tournament steeped in history, tradition, and world-class tennis.

The Road to Wimbledon

The Queen’s Club Championships occupy a unique place in the tennis calendar as the sport’s premier Wimbledon warm-up event. 22 of the last 25 Wimbledon champions have played at the Queen’s Club Championships , and the two tournaments share an intimate bond that no other pairing on the tennis calendar can match. Since 1979, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Carlos Alcaraz have all won both The Queen’s Club Championships and Wimbledon in the same year — a feat that stands as one of the most coveted doubles in grass-court tennis.

A Legacy of Champions

Andy Murray holds the record for the most men’s singles titles in the Open Era, having won the tournament five times between 2009 and 2016. His dominance on the West Kensington grass made Queen’s his spiritual home and produced some of the most celebrated matches in the tournament’s modern history. Other past champions include Rod Laver, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, and Rafael Nadal. Most recently, Carlos Alcaraz claimed his second HSBC Championships trophy in 2025, defeating Jiri Lehecka 7–5, 6–7, 6–2 in the final. On the women’s side, Tatjana Maria won the 2025 title, becoming the first women’s champion at The Queen’s Club in 52 years when the WTA event was reintroduced.

Atmosphere & Location

The Queen’s Club Championships offer an atmosphere that is intimate, elegant, and unmistakably English. Centre Court — now known as the Andy Murray Arena — hosts the tournament’s biggest matches , while the surrounding courts provide a relaxed setting where fans can get remarkably close to the action. Set in a leafy corner of West Kensington, the club exudes a sense of occasion that perfectly bridges the gap between the European clay season and the grass-court drama of Wimbledon. For tennis fans, a day at Queen’s is one of the great summer sporting experiences in London.

How to Buy Queen’s Tennis Tickets

The 2026 HSBC Championships takes place across two weeks in June, with the women’s WTA 500 event running from 8 to 14 June, followed by the men’s ATP 500 event from 15 to 21 June. Get your Queen’s Tennis tickets from Fanatix and experience world-class grass-court tennis at one of London’s most iconic sporting venues.
