Formed in 2017 by vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer, Spiritbox have quickly become one of the most distinctive voices in modern metal. Blending metalcore, progressive metal and atmospheric electronic elements, they create a sound that feels both crushingly heavy and hauntingly melodic.
Starting out as an independent band, Spiritbox built their following from the ground up through viral singles and word of mouth. Without relying on traditional industry routes, they connected with a global audience drawn to their emotional intensity, technical musicianship and fearless experimentation. LaPlante’s wide vocal range, moving from delicate, ethereal singing to ferocious screams, has become a signature part of their identity.
The release of their debut album Eternal Blue in 2021 marked a turning point. The record charted around the world and firmly established Spiritbox as one of the most important new bands in heavy music. Since then, they have continued to evolve, pushing genre boundaries while keeping a strong emotional core at the heart of their songwriting.
Now widely regarded as one of the most influential modern metal bands of the past decade, Spiritbox have helped reshape contemporary heavy music by merging technical riffing, ambient textures and catchy, pop-leaning hooks. Their work has earned critical acclaim, major award nominations and hundreds of millions of streams.
Onstage, Spiritbox have built a reputation as a powerful, must-see live act. Extensive touring across North America and Europe, including support slots with leading rock and metal artists and their own headline runs, has honed their performances into something special. Their shows are intense and immersive, combining precision playing, massive breakdowns and striking visual production.
With their biggest UK headline dates to date, Spiritbox step into the next chapter of their career, bringing their ambitious, emotionally charged vision for heavy music to ever larger stages.
The Tsunami Sea Tour will see Spiritbox take their sound to full arena scale for the first time in the UK. Fans can expect a powerful setlist featuring material from Tsunami Sea alongside standout tracks from Eternal Blue and earlier releases.
