Wonderful

Excellent, fast, friendly service. Sent me a personal message with a photo before pick-up to let me know where their booth was located. Their service was so good, i’d go to an event just to pick up tickets from them. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

About The Prodigy

The Prodigy, originating from Braintree, Essex, became a major force in the UK’s rave scene in the early 1990s, evolving into one of the most influential electronic groups. Led by the iconic Liam Howlett, their sound transformed from rave and breakbeat hardcore into a powerful mix of big beat, techno, and punk rock, reshaping the landscape of electronic music. Their 1994 album, ‘Music for the Jilted Generation,’ marked their rise to fame, but it was the 1997 album, ‘The Fat of the Land,’ that truly skyrocketed them to global recognition, topping charts in 16 countries and selling millions of copies.

The Prodigy’s discography is packed with notable tracks that defined an era. “Firestarter,” released in 1996, was a defining moment, featuring Keith Flint as the frontman with his iconic punk persona and chilling vocals. Soon after, “Breathe” highlighted the powerful vocal duo of Flint and Maxim. Other significant songs include “Voodoo People,” “No Good (Start the Dance),” and “Smack My Bitch Up,” along with later hits like “Omen” and “Invaders Must Die,” demonstrating their lasting influence. Their sound features aggressive breakbeats and pulsating basslines, often infused with politically charged lyrics.

The Prodigy is known for their high-energy live performances, which have been crucial to their lasting appeal. Throughout the late 1990s, they became festival headliners and consistently filled arenas. Memorable tours include the 1997 ‘Lollapalooza’ in the US, which expanded their fan base, and various UK and European tours like the ‘Jilted Generation Tour’ and ‘The Day Is My Enemy Tour.’ After the untimely death of Keith Flint, Howlett and Maxim have continued to perform, keeping his spirit alive, with recent tours and festival performances planned for 2024 and 2025. Their shows are more than concerts; they’re immersive experiences meant to energise the crowd.

Keith Charles Flint (1969-2019) was an integral and unforgettable force in The Prodigy. Originally a dancer for the group, his transformation into a snarling, tattooed frontman with his iconic “devil-horn” haircut in the song “Firestarter” made him an instant pop culture icon. Flint became the visual embodiment of The Prodigy’s anarchic spirit, captivating and challenging audiences with his aggressive stage persona, which contrasted with his gentle and kind nature offstage. His distinctive vocals on hits like “Firestarter” and “Breathe,” along with tracks from later albums such as ‘No Tourists,’ were crucial to the band’s signature sound. His passing in 2019 was a profound loss for the music world, leading to an outpouring of tributes from artists and fans worldwide, highlighting his immense impact as a performer who transcended the electronic music scene to become a true rock star. The band continues to perform in his honour, ensuring that his legacy lives on through their powerful music.

Hailed as pioneers of the big beat genre, The Prodigy has made a significant impact on electronic music by bridging the gap between dance, rock, and punk. They have brought the underground rave vibe to mainstream success and influenced many artists in various genres. Their Grammy-nominated album ‘The Fat of the Land’ exemplifies their talent, while their tracks remain widely sampled and admired in the music world, showcasing a commercially successful yet rebellious sound that has left a lasting mark on global music culture.
