Giveon, whose full name is David Giveon Evans, hails from Long Beach, California, where he was steeped in a rich musical environment influenced by soul, jazz, and classic vocal traditions. From a young age, he honed a deep baritone voice that would later distinguish him in the R&B landscape. His professional journey took off in 2020 when he collaborated with Drake on the track “Chicago Freestyle.” This exposure introduced his unique vocal stylings to a wider audience and sparked interest from fans and industry insiders alike.
