Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, known professionally as Gunna, was born in College Park, Georgia, and has risen to prominence within Atlanta’s vibrant hip-hop scene since the early 2010s. Growing up in a region famous for its music culture, he drew inspiration from notable local artists like Outkast, Future, and Young Thug. Gunna began making music as a teenager, showcasing a unique blend of smooth melodic delivery over trap-influenced beats.

His close friendship with Young Thug was a significant turning point in his career. This relationship not only provided creative support but also led to his signing with YSL Records.
