The 2025 Formula 1 season enters its second half with Round 13 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps Circuit from 25–27 July for the Belgian Grand Prix. Following back-to-back wins in Austria and Britain, Lando Norris has reduced the championship gap to just eight points behind McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown in Belgium.

This weekend also features a sprint format, offering extra points in Saturday’s 15-lap sprint race, which could prove crucial in the tightening title fight.

The main grand prix gets underway at 14:00 BST on Sunday, 27 July. Full coverage will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, and via smart speakers. Sprint and qualifying sessions will also be broadcast live across BBC platforms.

Weather Forecast

Spa’s notoriously changeable weather could once again play a decisive role. Light rain may affect Friday’s practice, while sprint qualifying should remain dry. Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with minimal rain risk. For Sunday’s race, forecasters predict a 20–25% chance of showers and a high of 21°C.

Team News and Red Bull Shake-Up

All eyes will be on Red Bull as Laurent Mekies takes over as team principal following Christian Horner’s recent dismissal. Mekies, who previously led Racing Bulls and served as Ferrari’s racing director, becomes the first person other than Horner to lead Red Bull’s F1 team since its 2005 debut.
Meanwhile, Alan Permane steps up to become Racing Bulls’ new team principal.

Track Facts

Spa-Francorchamps is F1’s longest circuit (7.004km) and a fan favourite, renowned for its fast corners, dramatic elevation changes, and unpredictable weather. With Norris riding high and Piastri looking to respond, and Red Bull under new leadership, the stage is set for another compelling weekend in the Ardennes.

Was a bit dubious buying F1 tickets…

Bought a 4 day grandstand seat to the australian grand prix and was a bit offput by the fact that I wouldn't recieve my tickets til the week of, but lo and behold, 3 days before the event the tickets were transferred to me without issue. Happy with the process overall.
