Liverpool began the Jurgen Klopp era on Saturday by keeping their first clean sheet in nine matches.
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was Liverpool’s star performer, making four saves to hold Tottenham Hotspur to a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane.
Spurs had the better chances, with Harry Kane twice testing Mignolet, who also denied Clinton N’Jie in the first half.
However, Liverpool, who remain one point below Spurs, came closest to breaking the deadlock.
Divock Origi hit the crossbar in the opening 10 minutes, before Kane hacked clear.
Klopp is a big believer in pressing, and his team certainly reflected that today.
