Manchester United submit €30 million bid for Spanish midfielder, but offer dismissed out of hand by Athletic Bilbao president.
Athletic Bilbao have announced that they have received an offer of €30 million (approximately £25.6m) for midfielder Ander Herrera, thought to be from Manchester United.
The Daily Express reported that the Red Devils have submitted a proposal to Athletic Club, but it is only now that the bid has been confirmed.
The Spanish club’s own Twitter feed revealed the bid has been made, but indicated that with a release clause of €36 million (around £30.8m), they would hold out for the full amount.

Manchester United astonishingly haven’t signed a central midfielder since Owen Hargreaves in 2007, but have work to do if they are to bring Herrera to Old Trafford.
