Tottenham are considering a move for Hamburg striker Paulo Guerrero, after the Peru star revealed he is considering leaving the Imtech Arena.
The 27-year-old was in impressive form at the recent Copa America in Argentina, finishing the tournament as the top scorer with five goals.
His exploits for his country has made him hot property, with Atletico Madrid, Valencia and now Tottenham linked with bids for the former Bayern Munich man.
Guerrero is currently taking a break ahead of the new season, but has hinted that he could leave Hamburg this summer.
"I am on holiday and it is a fact that I am still under contract at Hamburg," he told Deutsche Pressagentur.
"But, at some point in life, everyone fancies a change of scenery."
Guerrero is contracted to Hamburg until 2014 and the Bundesliga outfit are keen to keep the 27-year-old.
General manager Frank Arnesen said: "I am very happy to see Paolo Guerrero become the top scorer at the Copa America. Scoring five goals at such a tournament is incredible.
"Up until now, Hamburg have not received any bids from any other clubs."
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp could lodge a bid as he looks to freshen up his strike force after a disappointing goals return from his current crop of strikers last term.
Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch could all be set for Spurs exits this summer as Daniel Levy has urged Redknapp to sell before buying.
Meanwhile, Russia forward Roman Pavlyuchenko looks set to stay at White Hart as he negotiates a new deal with the club.
