Sao Paulo looking to complete permanent deal.
Brazilian giants Sao Paulo are looking to bring in Arsenal’s Denilson on a permanent deal, according to Sky Sports.
The midfield enforcer has been on-loan at the club since 2011 after failing to make a significant impact during his five year tenure at the London club.
Whilst Denilson did manage to break into the Arsenal first team, accumulating over 150 appearances along the way, Arsenal were not to unhappy to agree a loan deal for the player when Denilson stated his intention to return to his native Brazil.
Similarly, it is thought unlikely that Arsenal would stand in the way of turning the deal into a permanent one.
Sao Paulo Vice-President, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes, is quoted as saying ‘I believe we’ll reach an agreement with Arsenal. We have heard from Denilson that he doesn’t want to return to England, that he wants to stay here with us. I think our relations with Arsenal will help that to happen.”
If the player were to return, he would likely find himself in a queue behind the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Tomas Rosicky, Aaron Ramsey, and Abou Diaby for first team football.
