The Return Everyone Was Waiting For
Phoebe Bridgers has never been the kind of artist who floods the market with constant releases or endless touring; this restraint is part of what makes every announcement from her feel so significant; she chooses her moments carefully.
Since the release of Punisher in 2020, her profile has grown enormously. Between her solo work, the success of boygenius, and a string of high-profile collaborations, she’s become one of the most influential songwriters of her generation.
And yet, even with all that success, there’s still something understated about the way she moves. Phoebe has been teasing her return to the stage with intimate secret performances across the United States, in venues near reported UFO sightings. Most recently, she played New York’s Madison Square Garden, where tickets were just $1.
A Special Guest Fans Will Be Talking About
Joining Phoebe across the UK and Ireland dates will be Isaac Wood, making his first major tour appearance since leaving Black Country, New Road in 2022.
Wood was the band’s original vocalist and lyricist, helping shape the sound of For the First Time and Ants From Up There before departing shortly before the latter album’s release. Since then, he has largely stayed out of the public eye.
These dates will mark his debut touring solo material, giving audiences their first opportunity to hear the music he’s been working on since leaving the band.
It’s a fascinating pairing, what with both artists having built fiercely loyal audiences through deeply personal songwriting, and Wood’s return to the stage is likely to become one of the most talked-about support slots of the year.
From Bedrooms to Arenas
There’s something slightly surreal about seeing Phoebe Bridgers playing arenas. For a lot of fans, her music is tied to headphones, late-night walks, heartbreaks and are the songs you feel like nobody else understands until you see thousands of people singing them back at a show.
Somehow, deeply personal songs about grief, relationships and growing up have become the soundtrack for huge crowds around the world, with this new tour being proof of that.
What Can Fans Expect?
The new album will almost certainly play a major role in the setlist, but fans can also expect plenty of favourites from across her catalogue.
Songs like “Motion Sickness”, “Kyoto”, “Scott Street”, “Garden Song” and the epic “I Know The End” have become defining moments of Phoebe’s live shows over the years. If you’ve ever seen videos of a crowd screaming the final minutes of “I Know The End”, you’ll know exactly why these arena dates are generating so much excitement.
Importantly, Phoebe Bridgers has partnered with Yondr. across the tour to provide phone-free experiences worldwide. No phones, cameras, or recording devices will be permitted at the performances.
Tickets and Presales
Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Friday, 5 June.
Several presales are expected to take place beforehand, including artist and venue presales, giving fans the opportunity to secure tickets early.
With just seven UK and Ireland dates announced, demand is expected to be high from the moment tickets become available.
Why This One Feels Different
Every Phoebe Bridgers tour announcement gets people talking, and with this being her biggest UK and Ireland tour to date, this one is even more huge.
Fans have witnessed Phoebe go from a beloved indie songwriter to one of the most important acts in her scene, these are likely to be some of the most talked about shows of the winter.
