Formula 1 continues its European leg with Round 8 of the 2025 season at the Austrian Grand Prix, held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg from 27–29 June. Championship leader Oscar Piastri arrives with a 22-point advantage over McLaren team-mate Lando Norris, as McLaren continue to dominate both the drivers’ and constructors’ standings.
Last year’s race in the Styrian mountains saw George Russell take victory for Mercedes after a dramatic clash between Max Verstappen and Norris while battling for the lead.

The forecast looks promising for Friday and Saturday, with sunny skies and highs of 26°C and 29°C, respectively. Sunday will also be hot, but there is a chance of light rain during the 71-lap race, which starts at 15:00 local time.
Track Facts and Penalty Watch
The Red Bull Ring is one of the shortest and fastest tracks on the calendar, measuring 4.318km, with a lap record of 1:05.619 set by Carlos Sainz in 2020. Verstappen claimed pole here last year with a 1:04.314.
With three DRS zones, overtaking is expected to be plentiful. However, Verstappen arrives under pressure: he is just one penalty point away from a race ban. Fortunately for the Red Bull driver, two points will expire after this round, both stemming from last year’s incident with Norris at this very circuit.
