But which of his stars have outshone the others? Who has pulled it back and turned it around since that dismal Christmas period? There have been many highs and lows along the way, but below are the five players that have stood out the most.
5. Nacho Monreal
At the beginning of the season you would have been hard pressed to find anyone that felt the Spaniard still had a role in the squad. However, he has since become a vital and versatile player in Arsene Wenger’s arsenal (no pun intended). Having been forced to adjust to an unfamiliar centre-back role, he has now moved ahead of Kieran Gibbs as the club’s first choice left-back.
