Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has re-signed with the club through until the end of the 2017 season.
Robinson was due to come off contract at the end of the 2015 season, but the Roosters have moved swiftly to lock the premiership-winning coach with a two-year contract extension.
The former Catalans Dragons coach joined the Roosters before the 2013 season and immediately lead the the club to a premiership and a World Club Challenge title.
“The Sydney Roosters are a special club and I’m really pleased to extend my time here,” Robinson said in a club statement.
“The history and tradition, and most importantly, the people associated with the Roosters – from the board of directors, players, staff, sponsors and members – make me feel very proud to continue my role with the club.
“It’s a privilege to represent the Eastern Suburbs that no-one at the club takes for granted, and there is a committed team here, on and off the field, who will keep working hard to hopefully ensure success for many years to come,” he added.
Roosters chairman Nick Politis said he was thrilled to secure Robinson for the next three seasons.
“Trent is one of the best young coaches in our game and it’s wonderful to have him locked in for at least the next three years,” he said.
“Not only is Trent an incredibly astute coach, he importantly understands and respects the history of our proud Club and has cultivated a strong culture among the playing group and everyone associated with the Sydney Roosters.”
