Wenger dismisses reports the Gunners rejected him.
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he chose not to re-sign Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal this summer and the midfielder joined Chelsea instead.
The Spain international will play against his former club for the first time as a Blues player on Sunday when the Gunners travel to Stamford Bridge.
Wenger has admitted he has great respect for Fabregas and hopes the North London fans give him a good reception, but that he did not need the 27-year-old at the Emirates Stadium.

Many are annoyed that the Frenchman chose not to bring Fabregas back to the club where he had enjoyed so much success previously.
This has been especially frustrating after the Spaniard’s impressive start to the season for the West Londoners and Mesut Ozil’s continued failure to find any consistent form.
Wenger’s side will be up against it at the Bridge at the weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s men currently top of the Premier League and unbeaten in all competitions.
