After 17 losses competition new boys celebrate victory over Melbourne.
It might have come against a side that has only won two games themselves this AFL season, but the Greater Western Sydney Giants have secured their first victory of the 2013 season.
After showing impressive form in their loss to competition heavyweights Collingwood last weekend, the Giants took it a step further and comfortably beat the Demons by 37 points at Skoda Stadium.
The Giants hit the lead late in the first quarter and they were never headed from there as they ran out deserving 19.10 (124) to 12.15 (87) winners.
With the Giants securing the four points it means the race for the wooden spoon is not over as the Demons play Gold Coast on the road in round 20, while the Giants tackle Fremantle at Patersons Stadium.
