Matteo Darmian will apparently pocket just £30,000 per week when he completes his prospective move to Manchester United from Torino.
Reports on Wednesday claimed that the Italian international has agreed terms on a four-year deal ahead of an imminent £14.4m transfer to the Premier League.
But the right-back, who will fill a problem position for Louis van Gaal, will be on considerably less money than most of his soon-to-be teammates, according to the Daily Star.
Although £30,000 is more than most of us earn in a year, Darmian’s salary is only loose change compared to the average weekly wage of £90,000 at Old Trafford.
United’s first signing of the summer, Dutch winger Memphis Depay, is believed to have penned a contract worth three times as much as the one that Darmian will be on.
