Zaha could finally be given the chance of first-team football by the Magpies.
Despite much promise, Manchester United forward Wilfried Zaha has played just one competitive match for the club this season, back in the Community Shield against Wigan Athletic.
Since then, although wingers Nani and Ashley Young have been performing below par, the 20-year-old is still yet to be given a chance in any other game.
After rising to prominence at Crystal Palace over the past few years, Zaha found himself in and around the senior England squad and the attacker earned his first cap against Sweden last year.
However, with new United manager David Moyes unwilling to play the youngster, Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has not been including the Englishman in the national squad.
With the World Cup in Brazil next year fast approaching, Zaha is beginning to realise that the starlet needs game time to make it into the final 23 that travels to South America – presuming the nation qualifies that is.
Newcastle United are preparing to give the winger a get-out clause in January by placing an offer to take the youngster on-loan.
The Magpies have struggled once again this season in the Premier League and hope that the pace and raw energy that Zaha provides will give them an extra edge over opponents.
Moyes has already rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest, believing the player can learn more in training from the likes of Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, than he could in the Championship.
However, the fact that Newcastle are a top tier side may give them the edge.
