Liverpool are interested in signing 22-year old Bayern Munich playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be a big fan of the Swiss international, who is being under played at Bayern, and reckons that he could be the addition that could strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.
The 22-year old is rated at £15m, and Bayern might want to sell him as he has not been a regular since moving to the Allianz Arena in 2012. Although Guardiola speaks highly of the former Basel star, the Spanish boss has only handed the midfielder 16 starts in all competitions this season, and there are no immediate indications that the Swiss could become a more regular fixture in the side in the future.
Liverpool on the other hand, could do with another creative midfielder like Shaqiri in their bid to sustain their title challenge next season.
