Liverpool transfer news: Chelsea tipped target will demand move, Reds confident of signing Premier League trio but will offload seven squad stars
The Bosnian international looks certain to leave City this summer after a disappointing season and he has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
However, The Mirror reports that Roma are also keen on the striker and are ready head-to-head with the Reds in the summer.
Dzeko started just 11 Premier League matches this term after falling out of favour with City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who showed his lack of trust in the former Wolfsburg man after signing Wilfied Bony in January.
Both Liverpool and Roma will have to dig deep into its coffers after Dzeko signed a new four-year deal with the club in August.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has made signing a world-class centre-forward his priority this summer, although it is believed he is favouring a move for Aston Villa hitman Christian Benteke.
