When asked on what kind of money Liverpool would consider selling Luis Suarez for, manager Brendan Rodgers hinted that he would cost at least a world record transfer fee, reports the Mirror.
“He is certainly heading towards that,” said Rodgers, when asked if Suarez was worth up to £100m.
The brilliant Uruguayan has bagged 28 Premier League goals in 26 starts, and could send Liverpool top if they beat Spurs at Anfield this afternoon.
“If you look at the top people in the world, the Ronaldos, the Messis, those who have been doing it for five or six years, he would be right at that level,” the Northern Irish boss continued.
“Luis is certainly on his way towards that. His consistency has been phenomenal and what you see now is a more mature player.
“He is a world-class talent. Things evolve and times change. Time will tell.”
Up top for Liverpool, Suarez’s partnership with Daniel Sturridge has been especially sublime, with the pair bagging 47 goals between them so far.
Suarez is the top goalscorer in European football so far this season, and even if Liverpool secure Champions League football for next term, they can expect Real Madrid to come in for the 27-year-old this summer.
