Former NRL star Jason Smith has been charged with trafficking 280kg of cocaine.
The 42-year-old and restaurateur Jason Matthew Wood, 34, were arrested on Monday after a six-month investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission and Queensland police.
Smith played in 15 Tests for Australia and also represented Queensland at State of Origin level.
He was part of the Bulldogs’s 1995 premiership side.
Smith and Wood are due to appear before the Toowoomba magistrates court on February 11.
