Ex-Arsenal man offered sensational deal in Qatar.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor turned down the chance to sign for a number of Qatari clubs this January in a move that could have seen him earn around £1m per month, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Togolese forward, formerly of Arsenal and Manchester City, has often been criticised for the perception that he is content to sit on the bench and pick up his money without putting in enough effort on the pitch.
Still, the 30-year-old’s desire to remain in London saw him snub the chance of some highly lucrative offers this winter that could have made him significantly more well off.
Adebayor also had an offer to join rivals West Ham United on loan, which Tottenham rejected late on.
