Liverpool star Christian Benteke got on the scoresheet on Thursday night to help his side turn around a deficit against Bordeaux.
A penalty from James Milner cancelled out an opener from Henri Saivet following on from a Simon Mignolet blunder, but it was Benteke who ensured that the game turned on its head with this smart turn and finish before the half-time break.
A win for Jurgen Klopp’s side would secure their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League, as combined with Sion’s win over Rubin Kazan earlier in the evening, the Reds could move top of their group with nine points from their five games.
While progressing in the competition will be important to the German tactician, he will arguably be more pleased with his side building momentum as they look to continue their current form after their 4-1 win over Manchester City last weekend.
After initially struggling to score goals following his arrival, the Reds are starting to pose much more of a threat in the final third, and they are certainly adding a clinical edge to their play too.
