Hawthorn has released Danny Frawley from his recently-appointed role at the club to allow him to join St Kilda.
Frawley was due to begin his position as a defensive coach at the Hawks on Monday, however he will now take on a similar role part-time at the Saints after Luke Beveridge joined the Western Bulldogs as its new senior coach.
The former Saints captain will help the club’s defensive coach, as well as advise its tall defenders and forwards.
Frawley was formerly assistant coach at Collingwood, before being appointed as senior coach at Richmond – a role he held for five years.
