Hughes was hit in the head by a Sean Abbott bouncer and collapsed on the pitch.

Australian Test aspirant Phil Hughes is in critical condition after being knocked out by a bouncer while batting for South Australia in a Sheffield Shield clash against New South Wales at the SCG.
Hughes misjudged a ball from Sean Abbott and was hit in the head, before he collapsed and was taken off the field on a stretcher.
He is believed to be in a critical condition at St Vincents Hospital.
The South Australian was one of a number of batsmen in line for a Test recall following reports that captain Michael Clarke would not be fit in time for the first Test against India, beginning next Thursday in Brisbane.
