The former Manchester United star was brought in on transfer deadline day as a replacement for the injured Olivier Giroud, but Sanogo is not standing on ceremony for the £16m new recruit.
“He’s going to have to battle for his place in the side. Last season, I didn’t doubt myself. I was more afraid of getting injured,” said the 21-year-old.
“If the coach brought me in, it’s because he has faith in me.”
Sanogo still believes that Wenger has faith in him despite failing to find the back of the net in 17 appearances for the Gunners since joining last summer.
