Crows coach Brenton Sanderson did not rule out the possibility of current Essendon coach Mark Thompson joining the club as an assistant next season.
Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson says the club will approach Mark Thompson about joining the Crows in an assistant coaching role.
Sanderson admitted he needed help on Friday, and said a search had already begun.
He was asked directly if the club was trying to lure Thompson to the club, and didn’t deny the Crows would speak to Thompson.
“We will talk to everyone,” he told reporters.
“We probably won’t comment on individuals at the moment but that might be a discussion that we will have when our season is done.”
With a number of candidates being linked to the role, Sanderson said the Crows would leave no stone unturned in its search for an assistant.
“Trust me, there is people behind the scenes identifying who the next best person is to fill that role,” he said.
“We will look at every person that is available.
“Typically what happens is the very best people are contracted. But we will bring someone in with experience who is perfect for the role.
“It is a little competition in itself because those people aren’t just sitting waiting there, but we are searching the country to bring the best person in.”
