Reds line up bid for ideal Suarez replacement.
Liverpool are said to be plotting an ambitious January bid to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in a £40m deal, according to the Daily Star.
The French international has been linked with Premier League clubs in the past, and reports suggest he is currently unsettled at the Bernabeu and would consider an exit.
Liverpool are still in need of quality upfront after losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer, with Benzema seemingly identified as the ideal replacement by Brendan Rodgers.
The club already spent £16m on signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, but the Italian international has not yet found his best form at Anfield, while Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems mean another face upfront could be useful.
