5. David Luiz
The excellently coiffed David Luiz featured often under Mourinho’s predecessor Rafa Benitez last season, but has only started four of nine Premier League matches this term.
The Brazilian ought to be a great option in both central defence and in the anchor midfield role, but has a somewhat haphazard reputation.
That casual element to his play was clearly evident against Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge, when Luiz bizarrely allowed Jordan Mutch to nip in and score. The Blues star could easily have cleared the ball had he been more aware of the threat, and Jose Mourinho will expect higher concentration from the Brazilian if he is to win back his place in the side.
