The San Antonio Spurs clinched a 4-1 series win in the NBA Finals 2014 over the Miami Heat on Sunday night, winning their fifth championship.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was on hand to bring out the Larry O’Brien Trophy to the Spurs, and after congratulating the Miami Heat for their efforts over the past year, it was over to the new champions to receive their praise.
Kawhi Leonard was announced as the Finals MVP while the likes of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili were all asked to step forward to deliver a few words as the trio thanked the fans for their support and their team-mates for making it possible.
Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade conceded that the better team won this year after the Spurs used the disappointment of last year to push them over the line, with their efficient offensive work allowing them to put on a great show in the process and deservedly be named the NBA Champions 2014.
