Many people have tipped Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek for big things with club and country.
And the 19-year-old got his international career up and running this evening with this emphatic close-range volley for England Under-21s in their 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan Under-21s.
Loftus-Cheek’s first goal for the Young Lions came in his fifth appearance and broke 53 minutes of Kazakh resolve in the European Championship qualifier at the Coventry City Stadium.
A comfortable win was eventually secured by a strike from Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond and a stoppage-time third from Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom, on loan at Hull City for this season.

Although Loftus-Cheek has added only one to his previous tally of three Premier League appearances this season, Jose Mourinho has used him in the Champions League and Capital One Cup.
Considering that the Blues are suffering from their worst start to a league season in 37 years, the Portuguese may want to consider throwing the teenager into his first team sooner rather than later.
