Benzema could be on his way out in favour of Suarez or Aguero.
Karim Benzema could be leaving Real Madrid this summer in order to fund a move for either Liverpool’s Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.
The Daily Express says Los Blancos would sacrifice Benzema in order to make a huge offer for Suarez – which could rival the £85.3m world record fee they sanctioned for Gareth Bale last summer.
The Frenchman’s contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu expires in 2015 and therefore the striker’s departure from the Spanish capital at the end of this season is highly likely.
Madrid know that with the Reds looking like winning the Premier League title and Suarez having only recently signed a new deal at Anfield, a colossal bid would be needed to tempt them into selling.
However, the Mirror claims that whilst Carlo Ancelotti is looking to England for recruitment, it is in fact City ace Aguero that the Italian wants to sign.
This transfer would also need the sale of Benzema in order to be completed – with Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all interested in the 26-year-old, who would fetch around £35m.
As is the case with Suarez on Merseyside, the Citizens will also be keen not to lose their star striker and Los Merengues would also need to pay huge sums to land Aguero.
The Argentina international moved to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2011 for £38m and led the club to their first Premier League title that year, scoring the winning goal in a dramatic final day victory over QPR.
