The manager is using the media to his advantage once more.
In a week when Jose Mourinho has barely been out of the British press the Chelsea manager has now claimed his side won’t win the Premier League title despite beating Liverpool.
It was one of the biggest games in what is set to be the most exciting title race of recent times, as the Reds hosted Mourinho’s men at Anfield with a chance to go eight points clear at the top.
The 51-year-old had already said during the week that he would field a weak Blues starting XI due to the second-leg of the Champions League semi-final with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Usual first team stars such as Gary Cahill, Fernando Torres and Willian were left on the bench, whilst Ashley Cole got another rare start at left-back and young centre-back Tomas Kalas made his first league appearance for the west Londoners.
Yet a disciplined display from Mourinho’s side saw them come away from Merseyside with all three points and close the gap at the top to two.
However, despite this brilliant result for the three-time Premier League champions, their boss insists that they still have no chance of winning the title with two games remaining.
Mourinho: “We have no chance (to win the title). We were waiting for it to be the title match but it didn’t become the title match.”

With what Mourinho has been saying recently to the press then most now realise that whatever comes out of the Portuguese coach’s mouth should be taken with a very large pinch of salt.
