Nani could become a new star for the French champions.
Unwanted Manchester United winger Luis Nani is said to be in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a proposed move to the Ligue 1 holders, reports Le 10 Sport.
It’s long been expected that the Portugal international would leave Old Trafford this summer, with the likes of AS Roma, Anzhi Makhachkala, Galastasaray and PSG’s league rivals AS Monaco in the hunt.
With the Red Devils having the likes of Antonio Valencia, Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young and new signing Wilfried Zaha already competing in Nani’s position, the 26-year-old is going to be the one to make way.
Whilst PSG would love to have Gareth Bale on their books this season, the French champions are realistic enough to realise that even with their huge transfer budget, teams such as Real Madrid and Manchester United are ahead of them in the race to sign the Welshman – if Bale even leaves Tottenham Hotspur at all that is.
With Nani costing between £8.5m and £17m, the Portuguese winger is certainly the far cheaper option as well and with an impressive record in the Premier League, this price is something of a steal for any potential buyer.
Bar last campaign – which saw Nani play rarely due to injury – the midfielder had contributed 15 or more assists in all competitions for the past three years.
In fact between 2009 and 2012 no player in the Premier League set up more goals for their team mates than the United winger and in total Nani has 56 assists in 135 English top flight matches.
