Brazilian centre-back is suspended, while Thiago is out for six weeks…
Here’s the side we reckon Pep Guardiola will select to start for Bayern Munich in the Champions League tie with Manchester United on Tuesday evening…
GK) Manuel Neuer
Barring a late injury, Manuel Neuer, arguably the world’s best keeper, will start between the sticks at Old Trafford.
DR) Rafinha
We reckon Lahm will be deployed in midfield, meaning Brazilian fullback Rafinha should start on the right of the back four. He’s capable of getting forward and overlapping Arjen Robben in front of him.
DC) Javi Martinez
The Spaniard should start in the back four in the absence of Dante due to suspension. Martinez is an excellent passer, and is unlikely to let anyone down on Tuesday evening.
DC) Jerome Boateng
Boateng has been linked with a summer move to both Manchester United and Liverpool recently, but has been virtually ever present for Pep Guardiola’s brilliant outfit this term, and would demand an astronomical transfer fee.
DL) David Alaba
Alaba provides an exceptional attacking service up the left flank. He’s very good on the ball, but works tirelessly as well, leading many to regard him as the planet’s best fullback right now.
