Manchester United may be moving closer to signing Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin with the news that the Saints want £22m Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak as his replacement.
The Sevilla midfielder has impressed in La Liga this season, and the Daily Mirror now report that Southampton could be ready to activate his release clause, suggesting they have accepted Schneiderlin is on his way to Old Trafford.
The Polish international is a commanding defensive player who is also good on the ball, and his style of play makes him the ideal candidate to fill Schneiderlin’s boots at the St Mary’s Stadium.
This will be a double blow for Arsenal, however, who have been strongly linked with both players in recent months.
