Red Devils set to complete free transfer capture of Victor Valdes.
Manchester United are set to complete their first January signing even before the transfer window reopens on Thursday, according to reports from the Daily Star, with free agent goalkeeper Victor Valdes seemingly set to complete his move to Old Trafford as the Spaniard’s agent flies in to meet United officials.

Released by the club where he has made his name, Barcelona, Valdes was invited to train at Old Trafford a few weeks ago as he continued his rehabilitation from a knee injury, and it now appears that Louis van Gaal is sufficiently impressed with the Spanish international’s physical condition to offer him a deal.
The news could come as a blow to Liverpool, who have also been linked with Valdes as they look to solve a goalkeeping crisis of their own, but will provide the Red Devils with better back up than current star Anders Lindegaard.
