GK) David De Gea – 6
Was definitely not at fault for either goal, and if it wasn’t for an excellent save from Edin Dzeko in the first-half, it could have been worse.
DC) Rio Ferdinand – 4
A distinct, consistent lack or urgency on the ball. Not only does he lack pace, but he looked sloppy in possession, and it looked like David Silva or Samir Nasri could steal it off him every time he stepped out of defence.
DC) Phil Jones – 5
Sir Alex Ferguson once said that Jones could be the greatest United player ever. He won’t be. At the moment, he’s an average defender, and City’s wonderful attackers proved that.
DR) Rafael – 5
Unlucky on the first goal. Made a great block, but then slipped when trying to recover, which almost set the tone for the rest
DL) Patrice Evra – 4
Clumsy in possession, just like fellow ageing defender Ferdinand. Whenever he did get into City’s half, he’d play a lame cross straight into the path of a City defender, who then started breaks and attacked the area Evra should have been in.
