Premier league’s greatest ever keeper coy on managerial rumours…
Former Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel has refused to confirm or deny he is in the running for the vacant Sheffield united manager’s job, but claims he is flattered to be linked with ‘such a great club’.
The big Dane has been working as a television pundit for the BBC for the past few years, but has been linked to the job since the Blades parted company with Scottish manager David Weir, following a miserable start to the season.
Here’s what Schmeichel had to say on the rumours:
I can see that I’ve been linked with the vacant managers job at Sheffield United. (Cont)

..this is not my doing, I have not applied for any jobs, but it’s great to be associated with such a great football club.
